Always creative, Santa’s Little Helpers went a little bananas in the workshop and twisted themselves into an adorable Funky Monkey advent calendar.

This Layer Cake is cut using small pinked edges that cut down big time on fraying. YAY!!

Layer Cakes are also know as 10 inch stackers or 10 inch squares. Layer cakes contain 42 squares unless noted above.

I really love to use Layer Cakes when I am quilting because there are so many possibilities! You have almost 3 yards of fabric cut into 42 yummy 10 x 10 inch squares of an entire collection.

You can slice up your layer cake into 4 5" x 5" pieces, 9 3" x 3" pieces, 5 2" x 10" strips, the possibilities are really endless.

Need to make a super fast toddler quilt?

1. Open your layer cake and pick out 20 squares.

2. Lay out these 20 squares 4 across and 5 down.

3. Start sewing each row left to right. Then sew each row together top to bottom.

4. Quilt. Bind. Give with love.

5. You should now have a very cute toddler quilt that takes only 2-3 hours to complete.

AND you only used half of your layer cake. Use the rest to make a second quilt or make your first one twice the size :)
